Marty Curtis

There is nothing typical about Marty Curtis and his journey to success. However unusual, it seems that his path has finally brought him to what he has wanted since he was 14 years old: to live on the water and own his own business.

After several different careers and many interesting adventures, Marty is the man behind the amazingly successful Marty’s World Famous Café in Muskoka, Ontario. Praised for making the best buttertart in the world, mentioned in the Lonely Planet series of guidebooks, and visited by many celebrities, Marty’s World Famous Café certainly lives up to its name.

Marty seems to have followed his heart throughout his life. He has gone from pizza-maker at Baffo’s Pizzeria and Restaurant at the age of 14, to traveling the world, to working with his grandfather on orthapedic footwear, and finally to starting a little ice cream shop in Muskoka that quickly turned into the wildly successful café he owns and runs today. It is clear that Marty has always done what he finds fulfilling and rewarding.

Marty’s World Famous Cookbook was Marty’s first cookbook. With a foreward by Chef Michael Smith and including recipes from Mario Batali, Ted Reader and Steven Raichlen, this book comes with amazing accolades.
